Happy New Year! 2009
May God bless you in beautiful ways this New Year!

From Revelation 21:5 (NIV) “I am making everything new!”
Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

It is our prayer, here at the Carson Church of the Nazarene, that our Lord Jesus Christ will do new and wonderful things in your life this New Year.

People sometimes look back and perhaps even regret certain things that may have happened in the year gone by. But that's exactly what it is, the year "gone by." And since it is "gone by," let us leave it what it is, in the past! God desires to make a difference in your life, and in doing so He has new things in store for you! Perhaps some of the most wonderful things in your life are "just around the corner."

Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Well, God does. He knows where you are right now and He desires to begin that work in you today. No matter what has happened in the past, nor even how far you may have wandered away, the Lord has something wonderful He wants to do in your life. A powerful example of God's desire to reconcile us unto Himself is found in Isaiah, where the Lord says: Isaiah 54:4-8 (NIV) “Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. 5 For your Maker is your husband—the Lord Almighty is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. 6 The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit—a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God. 7 “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. 8 In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.

Yes, our Lord Jesus Christ desires to "make all things new," and, dear friend, He would like to begin that work in you this very day.

Revelation 22:17 (NIV) "The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life."

Yes, this is a brand new year. May God bless you with a brand new life and energy for the kingdom of God throughout this New Year. The Carson Church of the Nazarene, invites you to morning worship service next Sunday morning. Services start at 11:00 am. Sunday School for all ages starts at 10:00 am.
